Problem Resolved! I recaptured some footage in 1080i project and brought it in to 24P project. The automatic/default Motion Adapter applied a 125% speed adjustment using Blended Interpolated field type. This time I watched it and there were no redundant frames which means the Avid auto adjustment works...
