Yeah, I actually tried that before. It gave me an error message that reads "The system is not eligible." I don't have an ASC so I can't contact AVID directly to work it out. Help?

Can anyone help me by explaining what causes the "Unknown Exception -3" error message in the Sonic DVD program that ships with MC 4.02. I export the the video movie using Quicktime Reference and the Disc Image creates successfully but when I go to write the DVD (Dual Layer due to file size...

Ok, this is crazy, but I think I'm getting there. Im trying to create a DVD using AvidDVD on a WindowsXP, virtually on my MacPro , via VirtualBox I was wondering if I could just use the QT-REFERENCE files straight into AvidDVD. The DVD authoring is working fine on an MPEG source, but you still need...

I brought a quicktime reference of a 90 minute project in to AvidDVD. No menus or chapter points just a straight DVD that plays by default. However the movie is about 900mb in the red (on a 4.7gb single sided disc). Does anyone know of a formula or method for compressing in Squeeze to a custom duration...

Many thanks to Douglas for his great tutorials! After timidly trying AvidDVD for small one menu page projects I jumped in with both feet to author a dance recital DVD with 7 menus, most with 6 chapters per menu along with with a "First Play" FBI warning. As Atomike suggested I created the menus...

I have a preencoded file in my AVid DVD project, and quite some chapters linked to menus. Now the client wants a small change somewhere in the video (1.5 hour single MPEG file)...and I would like to save the time to re-encode and re-author the whole movie I have successfully "patched" the MPEG...

I guess the root cause of the problem is not completely fixed in 6.1.1 ? Here is what I discovered today: A 4.1 GB movie encoded using TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5.0.6.38 as MPEG-2 (PS), VBR (approx 6000 kbps, max 8000, min 2000) with 224 kbps AC3 audio. Imports without warning in AvidDVD 6.1.1 (running...

I am authoring and burning BDs just fine with Avid DVD but the menus are not High Def. I bring in a full 1920x1080 jpeg and set up a menu, but after it is authored and I play it back on a blu-ray player it is apparent that the menu is Standard Def. Is there a setting or workaround for this, or am I stuck...

Finding the appropriate font & alignment requires a lot of experimenting (due to poor documentation/online help a.o.) - see my pending questions here: http://community.avid.com/forums/t/93243.aspx I have made some progress (Lucida Sans 18 gives acceptable results for my project), but I am now facing...

[quote user="BenoitM"] not being totally familiar with DVD subtitling technology, I wonder where the subtitles rendering occurs ? Does the multiplexed stream on the finished DVD contain the subtitles as text (to be rendered by the player) or as bitmaps (rendered by the authoring application...
