  • AVID MC 2021.5 HDR output via HDMI not working?

Hi, created a new project on MC 2021.5 using a 1080p25 preset and YCbCr 2020 / Hybrid Log Gamma color space. Unfortunately, I can not enable HDR Monitoring on my LG OLED TV via HDMI on a DeckLink 4K Extreme 12g. Went to Site Settings and enabled HDR but the TV stays in SDR-Mode. When using Resolve on...

  • Atomos convert

Hi, I've recently purchased a atomos ATOMCTC-SH1 converter to be able to convert sdi to hdmi with a timecode burn in. I'll link to the product page below. The converter seems to be working fine when connected to a camera or davinci resolve. However, when we open avid media composer or protools...

  • Best simple HDR-capable UHD/4K HDMI output card?

Gidday all, In my view one of the best things to happen to Media Composer in the last five years was the appearance of solid, really great value output cards like the Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K. We have two, and they have been excellent, for twenty percent the cost of what they replaced... can't...

  • HDMI Input question on DNxIQ

So we recently purchased DNxIQ, primarly so we could have access to our large Archive of analog (Beta & 3/4) material straight into MC. But we also have matereal that has been archived on Blu-ray. We have found that the signal from a Blu-ray player will not pass through the DNxIQ. The disc's...

  • Workflow uisng Ninja Blade

I've got a a Ninja Blade hooked up to a Panasonic HDC-SD707 via the HDMI output from the camera. I was thinking of using the camera for backup recording and using the real-time encoded DNxHD files straight from the Ninja for editing. I can also record 1080p/50 on the camera as MC8.4 now handles it...

  • Best simple HDMI UHD monitoring card

Hi all, Whats working for people as a simple, reliable HDMI UHD monitoring solution? I'm attracted (by virtue of its very reasonable price) to the Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro 4K. The limitation of 30fps (its only HDMI 1.4) is irritating, but that is all we need for now, so we may just suck that...

  • 4K - Best low-cost monitors and MX02 equivalent?

Gidday all, Like I imagine quite a few of you I am thoughtfully scratching my chin (and, more lovingly so, my bank manager's chins) over the necessary upgrades to get us to 4K for our any-moment-now switch to FS7 and the glories of 4K. Though at present our two suites work fine at HD using MX02s...

  • Three-monitor issue with Full Screen Playback

I've had this issue with MC 7.0.3 - Mavericks up through the current MC 8.3 - Yosemite, on a 2013 "trashcan" Mac Pro. Trying to connect 2x Thunderbolt displays and a TV via HDMI, in that arrangement. Full Screen Playback, when set to my third display, always sets its values to 0-0-0-0....

  • Re: client monitor

Hi Raas, Higher than HD resolution is not supported in MC 7, forthcoming releases will support UHD. While I do not have experience with the exact model of display that you are looking into you should consider the following. Video modes supported by the display and modes that you will need to monitor...

  • Re: Laptop 10bit playback

Hi Mercer, It appears that the AVID Certified products question regarding 10-bit support with Laptops has been answered by Marianna. Bluefish444 have done many tests in house with numerous Thunderbolt Expansion products and so far have found them to be very fast and extremely flexible. The advantage...
