An OP1a MXF out of Avid does not encode the file with Closed GOP. The only way to do it is use a third party encoder. The cheapest option is unfortuntunaly Adobe Media Encoder. It has Advanced MXF options - I click the 'Force Closed GOP' setting and encode. My method is to create a video mixdown of master seq. to either ProRes or DNx. Make timeline

2cents - For any future work, I would always recommend XAVC camera ops/productions to record to a recording device like a Atomos for a more efficient workflow. These devices record direct to SSD's and to 12bit Prores of DNxHR and avoid using XAVC wrapped 10bit H264 media. It has saved us days of transcoding/conforming and dealing with errors like

Hi all, I'm mastering a UHD sequence out of MC 8.4 and need the codec to be ProRes 4444 for a Same As Source export. Why is there no ProRes 4444 option? I can only see ProRes HQ as the highest quality for mixdown option which seems odd for a UHD workflow. I look forward to info on this. Cheers

For what its worth, Im using Mac MC 8.3.1 & 8.4 I believe it to be a combination of camera firmware, camera settings & sony's AMA plug. I have experienced some clips that half a clip offline, and the start of the vision is indicated with the red marker. Some FS7's have no issue what so ever. F5 and 55 seamless. Use resolve you say! I have the same issue with my Mac Pro Online suite using a 10GBe direct conect. I dont think it is a server issue, I suspect a bad/damaged fibre cable. I hope I'm wrong.
