Last time I looked, I could't link to Canon 24P footage (C300). Better test or use a 3rd party transcoding method.

There is another thread n this subject: http://community.avid.com/forums/p/179346/857873.aspx#857873 Look for my post on May 16th to see what was the problem with my system. It may help others. R

This is weird. I tried changing the Display colour space again and no difference initially then suddenly, it kicked into life and now works as you describe. One of those things. Thanks.

Hi Mike ... I've tried a number of combinations of settings but I'll have another look. Hope you are well. Thanks.

Not any more, they don't. They show a green dot and play in RT. Nothing above 1920 HD, though. Your current option is the NewBlue Titler but Avid have announced a UHD Title Tool (not seen it, however and no date announced). I'd say that fior HD, it is worth learning Marquee but it can be a steep learning curve.

Well, my system does now play them in the Source monitor and the Timeline, no rendering. It was a great surprise to discover this a few months back.

It might be my decaying brain, but can anyone tell me under what circumstances the 'Video LUT' readout of the Color Info Tool would show values that differed from the LH 'Video' value? The help files suggest it is to do with the display colour space but no combination of changes in the Project Window, Composer Window or Source Settings

Not sure if this helps but until a few months ago, static Marquee titles were RT but animated ones were not, and showed a blue dot and needed rendering. Sometime in a 2018 release, I think, animated Marquee titles became RT. I'm on a Mac, however. Just tried one and it plays without rendering.

If you link or import, settings shouldn't matter. It may not look right but you are not even getting that far. Looks like you are on a Mac. Is that right? Will it open in iMovie? Or are you on Windows?

Looking forward to 2018.6 ....
