As an update, if I let the computer sit for about 1 hour, MC eventually gets past the second stop point and very slowly loads. The projects menu comes up and when i select a recent project, it very slowly loads (20 min?). Once loaded I can scroll through the timeline and play it. I've not tried to edit. I have no idea what is going on.
