• Mixed Resolutions Workflow

Hey all! /wave I was wondering if someone could verify for me if this is the correct workflow for Media Composer 6.5 Mac based when dealing with mixed resolution. I am creating a new project for 1080 24p and a new project for 1080i 59.94. The final output is for 1080i 59.94. I am AMA linking the 24p file in the 24p project then transcode it to DNxHD

  • Re: Will Mojo DX scale SD video?

Did you want to lay off to tape or is this for monitoring purposes? MX02 scales fine for monitoring. If you want to lay off to tape, you will need the mojo.

  • Re: Keyframing in MC 5

Larry I'm surprised you agree with this Avid has stated before that the keyframe decision of removing the starting and ending ones by default was done to save memory. They found by removing these by default saved a vast amount of memory resources and allowed the system to operate more smoothly in a large project situation. I would say Avid's

  • Re: Unsupported Resolution...pc brothers help if you speak both languages...

could it be the avid codec? if this is a ref file going to another system, then it's possible that the other system won't read the avid codec. it's a quicktime plugin. it's free and you can get it from this website. other than that it might be an issue with FCP. You might want to try creative cow or FCP official site for work around

  • 5.0.3,5

Fogive me if this has been answered already, but I just want to make sure I do this right when I get home tonight. LOL To upgrade to this version if you are already 5.0.3.X all you need to do is install the patch correct? No uninstall or delete audio digi folders required?

  • Re: What would cause AvidDV to crash on importing QT ref files

Any assistance would be grealty appreciated
Neil, Are you using AvidDVD 6.1.1? If not, are you exporting the audio as AIFF? Earlier versions of AvidDVD would only work with WAV audio files. Regards, Douglas
Also Douglas, I thought I read on one of your posts earlier

  • Re: AVID VS FCP
The trial version does not include Boris Continuum Complete and AvidFX....
This is VERY true. Adding what you get with the bundle- Avid is absolutely competitive with FCP price wise. Personally, I've found the effects that FCP supplies to be too much wedding video like. But that probably just personal preferance

Thank you so much for the reply Larry. It makes me feel better being able to tell my clients that Avid indeed is working on the problem and hoping it will be resolved soon.
