I'm hoping someone with some experience with this type of workflow
I DO have experience with this type of workflow and I told you what you need to do to bring the transcoded clips into MC5: use AMA to Link To Volume. It's very easy if you select the correct folder. Don't go into the subfolder to
when I click on file I have and Import option but no Import P2.
I think for that to work you have to have an actual P2 card in a P2 card reader. The way I brought the converted AVCHD-to-P2 clips into MC5 was to use AMA to Link To Volume. When you Link To Volume you will select the P2 folder you created so that

I haven't seen any slow downs using the mx02 mini in either MC 5 or MC 5.5, with the correct drivers installed for both the mx02 and the video card. I haven't tried it with MC 6, however.

I wonder if this is also the case for anyone running a Quadro card with their mx02 mini. I see that Matrox lists a number of Avid-certified systems the mini is compatible with. Each of those systems uses a Quadro card. I see all of you have Geforce cards. link: http://www.matrox.com/video/en/support/windows/mxo2/system/tested_sys/ I have an mx02 mini

cbezeike, Something else to keep in mind when choosing between a Geforce or a Quadro, from a post by Marianna: "With Graphics acceleration, the Media Composer application sends effects to the graphics card GPU for processing. This capability is only available with the NVIDIA Quadro cards. The transfer of the data to the GPU takes up cycles so if

FWIW, I used a Quadro FX1800 for 1 1/2 yrs with MC5 and never had any performance problems. It always ran great and 99% of my work is with HD footage which includes some fairly complex fx layers and titles. I bought that card off ebay for quite a bit less than retail. Two weeks ago I bought a used Quadro 2000 off ebay for $270 and it also runs great
when either/both of these becomes the current version
I would be surprised if the Production Suite included the most current versions. If it ever did I don't think we'd get it for such a great price ($295 USD); instead I would expect it to cost quite a bit more.
