SOLVED It was the plugin that was causeing the problem. When I tried installed the latest XDCAM plugin, it said a newer version was already there, but it wasn't. I found where to uninstall the plugin, and reinstalled, and it now works. Thanks for the replies.

Tried that. I ususally leave it on auto detect, but I tried selecting the xdcam plugin specifically too. Same result.

Hi We just bought a Sony PXW-FS7 camera, and I'm bringing it into Avid (8.5) for the first time. Not having any luck though. The folder structure is: XDROOT Clip [MXF clips here] Edit Sub When trying to AMA link the footage, I tried selecting the root folder, and the XDROOT folder, but it just gave me an empty bin. When selecting the Clip folder

Refresh clip didn't work. The workflow was a mess, to be honest. Normally we bring it in AMA, then transcode to DNXHD, which creates new clips. When we were relinking normally, it wouldn't work, so we had to use Batch Import, and select each clip individually. This worked in that they were there in the bin, but the timeline is still all offline

Trying to bring a timeline back online. We had an external drive die at my shop, which had the media and bins from a projects on it. I had to start a new project, and bring back the sequence from the attic. Through a combination of relinking and batch importing, the clips in the bins are back online. Problem is they don't connect to whats on the

Think we might be on the right track, but that didn't help. I had a virtual ama drive mapped across the network to another computer. I thought for sure that would fix it by unmounting that, but it didn't. Further down in that box, there is a list of my "fixed" drives, but there is also a network drive that says 'remote'. It

I'm having the same problem, but changing the AMA XML file didn't help with the lag after switching. I think the software starts a bit faster, but that's it. Also, when hitting the dissolve key, there is quite a bit of time before the box comes up. Any other ideas how to eliminate that lag? Thanks

Tried that, yes. Even with the alpha ignored, it still just black. Normally you'd think it'd be a codec issue, but the files are uncompressed. Is there another file format that supports alpha channel (on PC) ?

Hi My shop has upgraded to Avid 7, which is great for the most part, but we have a few transitions that are uncompressed AVI's with an alpha channel. They are coming in just as black now in MC 7. They worked in previous versions. They still show up as a matte key in the bins. The import setting is set to alpha invert. Any suggestions? Thanks

No problem I've got 7 up and running, if anyone has any questions. I'm currently trying to figure out the Dynamic Media Folder thing. Right now it just says DMF service is not running.
