Hello all, Greetings from Mali, West-Africa. Doing a pilot short video with my Nikon D300s and ZOOM / external mic for sound, I was not impressed by the "general noise" it produced. Is there a way / effect to fix that a little bit in general without wanting to have it perfect. Thanks for any input! Ewien

Thanks camoscato for the info and link, but those online tutorials do not play well with our (slow) internet connection. Is it hard / too much info to post the first steps? where to go to ...? Thanks!

Thanks for your reply, I believe so too, about the H.264... This morning, I imported the files on DNxHD 120 MXF...(as I used to do). Is XDCam 35 or DNx145 - as you suggested - better?

Hello all, My GoPro video camera shoots MP4 files. In order to import these without (too much) quality loss, should I change my import settings than when working with my Sony PMW-EX-1? Should / Can I go AMA? What is the best way, if there is any at all? Thanks for any input on this!

Hello all, Greetings from Mali, West-Africa. I am wondering if I could speed up the lines a bit where I am using the Marquee type writer effect? I tried trimming, but that does not work really. Does it need the time which it gives automatically to be able to type the whole line probably? Just wondering...thanks for any input!

Thanks for all your help / advice in this...it worked out fine! I will try the resize option this weekend Pat, to see the difference with the reformat one. The only thing lacking - to close this project - is the output in 3gp / mp4 format for cell phones. I exported the same project in a QuickTime file, but it doesn't show my first sec (faster motion

Forgot what I said before. I had to add the 16:9 instead of 4:3 sidebar and leave the settings (4:3) as they are...now it looks a lot better!
-
a short update...I did manage to get it to 4:3 after changing my "Project Type" in the Format tab from 1080p/25 to simply 25p... Than I change my aspect ratio (in the same Format tab) to 4:3 - as you said Pat - Used the "Reformat effect" to add 4:3 sidebar and set the aspect ratio to 16:9 again. (Changing back to 1080p/25 also?)

@Pat / started right away... Made a copy of project // added a new video track // so far so good, but it won't let me switch back to the 4:3 ratio, the 2 options to choose out are grey. I could do that before though, I tried ?? As for the reformat, should I choose the 16:9 letterbox option or 4:3 sidebar? As you can read, I never did this before

@Pat / thanks for your explanation(s) and I do like the more general way, because here in Mali (West-Africa) the people often don't have the dvd players of good quality we have in the West. The other thing is, that people often are not this educated as we are and I want to control my output from my side. I did flag the project right though in Avid
