Workaround I've been using: If you have the workspace strip up along the right side of one of your screens, click the small triangle to the left of the workspace and select Revert To Saved*. This calls up your saved workspace. I haven't quite figured out the current iteration of workspaces, but at least this gets me what I want and I can keep

Occasionally when I delete a rendered effect from my timeline, the effect icon is gone, can't open the effect editor (so the effect is no longer applied), but visually the effect is still happening. That's when I must mark in & out in the timeline and Clear Renders In to Out. Making sure to uncheck the Skip Motion Effects button as well
