Don't know what the problem is - maybe because avcHD is supposed to be HD. If you just have a "couple" of clips, I'ld use Squeeze to encode 'em to MOV's with an Avid Codec and quick-import them.

you don't need a editing software like MC, you need a video converter/encoder software. working on a Mac try Compressor, Handbrake, Episode, ...

Enough space on your media drive? Any information in the console?

you can copy the MXF clips from the fw hdd to your media drive - just create a new directory with a number in your MXF folder (f.e. d:/Avid Mediafiles/MXF/5/ - where "5" would be the next free number as a directory) and put the files in there. next time you start MC, it will scan the directory, create a database and you should be able to open

one way would be the use of the avid paint effect and set some keyframes.....
