I know what 8 and 10 bit mean - I want to KNOW whether it 'causes the higher CPU load...

I ran some test with MC 7.0 and a BMD Ultrastudio SDI on a notebook an realized that i got different CPU loads while capturing from different HD-SDI sources. source 1 was the output of a adrenalin hardware with installed HD boards. source 2 was a sony video mixer (DFS-800) what's the difference? 8 vs 10 bit?? all other settings were the same 1080i25

I'ld take a closer look at the audio: 5s 46ms one frame would be 40ms -> 46 ms -> two frames?? Do you have a blank gap in your sequence? I'ld always fill this with a black image before encoding.

Don't import them: use AMA to link to the files/disc and then transcode.....

you have to add the MXF files to your media drive / or let MC access the MXF files on your external drive. they need to be in the correct folder (Avid MediaFiles\ MXF\1 -at least for win systems, you can choose a different number instead of "1"). restart MC, use "Open bin", select your "Missing footage" bin. maybe you need

Terry: I guess your clips on the card use the XDCAM codec with 35MBit/sec, other variants use 50MBit/sec (HD 422). Your AMA transcoded files use DNxHD with 145Mbit/sec. 145 : 35 = 4,14 But: did you expect anything else?? You could consolidate your SxS card - the size would be the same because the codec would be the same - like your attempt with the

have you tried to put the card back in your camera? can you play your clips there? maybe you could record the output of the camera? (HDMI / Component)

I run some tests with MC7 and files from a Sony NEX FS700 and a Sony NEX 7. The SD cards from both cameras were detected automaticly - MC AMA linked the clips. I've also moved the files (including the folder structure) to the hard drive and linke to the directory and didn't face any problem. Which camera did you use to create the clips? Do you

I got some shots from a new hero 3. the clips have a resolution of 1920x1440 pixels. I can AMA link 'em, but they get squeezed. is there a way to maintain the corret aspect ratio? I don't want to have to use Sorenseon or Premiere or AE to convert the clips before being able to edit them... best regards.

the MOV file will have a link to the audio file and to your avid video (MXF) files. try to open the quicktime file with a quicktime player - you should be able to playback the video and audio - maybe it won't run smooth - depending on your system - but at least, you should be able to see and hear parts of it. launch your encoding app and open the
