Assuming you mean the video is "40 over 23.976" meaning it's playing slowmo at 23.976, then 166.8% roughly (it's a reapeating fraction; 40 / (24 * (1000/1001)) = 1.66833333 etc)

I switched to Autodesk Flame in 2014 not long after Avid EOL'd their only NLE that has transfer modes.

I'm running 2018.12.8 and it works for me, but this is Windows.

...or they could implement a system like Avid DS had over 20 years ago where effects stack up on top of the clip, are easily disabled, deleted, re-arranged, even trimmed to only span a portion of a clip...

7.7.9 is the last to exist.

Thanks Marianna, NY I'll keep waiting to update for now.

Has this bug ever been addressed?
What are you trying to install MDV on? MDV installs and works fine here on W7 and W10 (last updated about 3 months back)
It runs, but the Windows version has always been crashy, it will randomly die in the middle of copy operations. I guess he quit maintaining the Windows version 10+ years ago but has continued to update the Mac version

nVidia dropped support for the 4000 (and other Fermi cards) in the release 378 drivers. If MC wants 353.82 though, you have to use that. Make sure you downloaded the right one -- https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/88808/en-us I ran it on my system and it passed the system check phase (I have a Quadro 6000 which is also an old Fermi architecture
