perfect, thanks again - done some testing and that's exactly what I need, made the mistake of using a clip that had video and sound for my first test so it failed (well, created a group clip rather than a sub-clip) but I got it now!! now then, (as this is my own time) back to that epic honeymoon video I've been working on since '08....

got it - many thanks, apologies for the doubt, just couldn't work it out (and its in the 'bin' menu, not clip menu) Will now try to understand how to get it to work :)

sorry, no mention of 'auto-sync' in either the documentation or under the clip menu in my Pro5.5. - perhaps its an MC only feature (or you were pulling my leg!) any other suggestions? cheers anyway.

Hi, just my two penneth but I jumped into this AVCHD can of worms a while ago and will happily share the woes!! :) the Panasonic P2 (DVCPro HD) transcoder route works a treat - but you don't get the full pixel count. DVCPro HD is an anamorphic 1440 (stretched to fill 1920) so you lose quality. Transcoding to DNxHD is the best way I've found
