  • Relink AMA without making new clips?

Maybe there isn't a better way to do this, but when ama clips go offline, the only way I know of to relink them is to mount the file/volume again. Then the old clip will come online again, sometimes automatically, sometimes if I tell it to relink. The problem is that I now have at least two copies of the master clip. I've heard people say that

  • Re: Different serial numbers for separate components?

Not sure why I can't get an answer for this. It's very simple and important: Has avid removed Script Sync and Phrase Find from the main license (forced me to buy them again) between 5.5 and 6?

No third party. It's all avid features. Script sync, phrase find, and at least one more. Don't have the program in front of me at the moment or I'd give a full list. It also takes so long to open that I may downgrade for that reason alone if it's still an option.

  • Different serial numbers for separate components?

Recently made the upgrade ftom 5.5 to 6 (academic) and the first thing I see is that the activation is now broken down into several components. My new serial number worked for the main program, but that's all I recieved and it didn't seem to work for script sync or other features. Did I lose those features in the upgrade? If so can I go back

  • Re: JKL behavior

I'll give that a try. Is that the only way to do it or can you set it to always do it that way (aside from adding option to the key)? I feel like I had it set that way before.

  • JKL behavior

I think this is possible to set but I forget where to do it. I would like to set it so that when I hit L twice (fastforward), then hit J once, it will drop back down to regular speed (or one setting slower if I was on a higher fastforward speed) rather than immediately starting to rewind as it does by default.

  • Flipcam with AMA

I'm working on something now that was shot in part on flipcams. It comes as MP4 files, 720p30. It will come into media composer as AMA, but since it's 30fps and not 29.97, playback is awful and it adds slight time remaps to everything. Is there any way to have it work the other way and conform the video from 30 to 29.97 (basially just ignore

  • Re: Autosync not working

Strange update: If I remove the in-camera audio from my video, autosync works just fine. MC5's autosync has the ability to keep or remove camera sound, so this shouldn't make a difference, but just to see if it made a difference, I deleted the camera sound and removed thier channels. Then autosync worked no problem. If it makes a difference

  • Autosync not working

I have video and audio with matching timecode but they won't sync with autosync. I just get "Exception: AUTO_COMP_NO_SYNC." The timecode does match on the main timecode track. I can find something on one and enter the exact same timecode on the other, and there it is. The group clips function works based on source timecode, but I don't

  • Re: MC 5.0 Relink transcoded files to AMA native files

Avid needs to see the original AMA clips somewhere in an open bin. Since the media isn't stored in the usual locations or databased in the same way, it won't know to look in those locations otherwise. I am curious why it doesn't store the file path of the origina AMA media when it transcodes and then looks there first, but this isn't
