I would go with a GeForce card over the Quadro. And I'd consider the 8th gen i7 8700K.

So I've spent a lot of time on this and have been unable to get definitive answers. I thought that DNxHR 444 was RGB by default, but I believe that's not the case. So a few questions: 1. Is DNxHR 444 RGB or YUV 444? 2. There a way to specify it to be RGB or YUV 444? 3. Is some advantage of one over the other? I've read that YUV 444 is easier

I would stay away from the Shuttle USB 3.0. It's pretty flakey and very dependent on what USB chipset and drivers you have. I'd recommend seeing if there is a way through converters to get an UltraStudio Mini Monitor to work for you. Maybe post on the BMD forum: https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewforum.php?f=3

Maybe I'm mistaken. I thought with the Canon software you had to convert to totally new file format, like DPX or EXR. Are you saying you can gamma and gamut and keep the file in the CRL .CRM format?
