Hve you tried fluid motion with the time warp effect? That gives me by far the smoothest looking slow mo. It will take a long time to render though.

Hi sixencar, I have just opened the page http://avid.force.com/pkb/LegacySearch?DocId=263545 without a problem. I have also downloaded the codec pack and no problems there either. The installation on my laptop (XP Pro, SP3) worked too. Why you have the problem with the page and the download is puzzling me. Here is stab in the dark though for your installation

Fimon, this isn't banding, it looks like you have a reversed field order. If it is not showing in the Avid, do a mixdown of your entire timeline, place it in the top layer of your timeline and then export it as a QT.ref.

Please keep in mind that Vista Ultimate is not supported. If you want to use Vista, Avid recommends Business 64bit. Good success with your system
