- Why not enhance Symphony so it becomes an alternative to Resolve or Baselight and make it again a paid option for the standard subscription license?
The one thing that would make me update my two licenses. (Otherwise MC18 will suffice my needs!)

Nor I Nigel! Happy New Year! Nothing useful in this update for me so, just lapsed my second perpetual license after being with Media Composer for 32 years.

MJ, I always edit scripted like this, sometimes with even more tracks (14!) Sync lock is your friend here, it will keep all the tracks together when you trim the video and audio without having to select all the tracks. Clip gain all the shots audio to -30 or so, then bring just the booms up to level, yes, there is no way to do the last bit in a bunch
n reality RGB generally means full color levels
I just want to re-iterate what others have said; RGB does not mean that lvels are full swing. The Arri Alexa ProRes 444 outputs studio swing levels for intance; the colour corrector in MC converts to RGB and back again to YUV in a 422 project, the confusion
wow that looks like a great tool!! thank you!
Yup! I used this tool to add the TOD data to the footage of an movie shot on iPhone. The most reliable way of conforming (I tried Resolve and Assimilate Scratch amongs others) was Media Composer. MC gives more options when re-linking to the camera originals

Nah, infortunately does not work like that, you are stuck with just the first eight tracks. Back in the distant past (MC 7) you were able to switch banks of eight in MC which allowed you to get at the others...

Thank you so much for this post, was just about to tear the remaing hair out, and shout at the sound recordist... David

Dear chap, I too share your frustration; but yes, we maybe old, but not luddites! There are long lists of things that would help our workflow, these UI changes are not in that list...

Command+Alt+L (or K) works on a Mac (MC 2018.)

+1 Me too, they just remind me how long I have been editing...
