I am running MC 2022.7 on an old but good 27" iMac from something like late 2013. It has Thunderbolt and USB outputs, no HDMI. My simple question is, how do I attach a cient monitor? Thanks, marluc

Thanks, dlogneb. I had just downloaded that page from Avid. Seems good unless someone else reports otherwise.....? marluc

Forgive me if this has already been covered, but I am thinking of getting a new MacfBook Pro or Max M1 and am tempted by the 16" screen. Are all these computers qualified to run Media Composer 2022? What problems have been reported and is it a smart decision? Many thanks for your feedback, marluc

Unfortunately, it always comes out Progressive. All contemporary versions are geared towards progressive. Interlaced is a thing of the past, and there is no solution escept NEVER TO UPGRADE! marluc

Yes, Philip, it seems that Avid has dropped certqain legacy capabilities and everyone I have spoken with thinks it can't be done with the current MC version. I never should have upgraded my OS or my Avid app, but at the time I didn't realize what the consequences would be. Those of us who are old enough to have worked in these early formats

Is it possible for me to create and export from Media Composer 2022 on Mac OS Catalina as the following: ProRes 422HQ D1/DV NTSC (0.9091) interlaced lower field first non-square pixels Please help. I am going nuts trying to get this old project to export correctly to view on CRT monitors! Many thanks, marluc

Job, yes I was careful about that. I closed down the project, chose a new user name and re-entered the project and now everything seems to be ok. Very odd. Thanks, marluc

Pat, it's all non-drop frame. I am finding that the duration as listed in the timeline is different from that in the Timecode box. See example: timeline says 16:21 for title black, where timecode reader says 10.01. I need precise lengths among seven channels of video. What am I doing wrong? marluc

I am suddenly seeing a mismatch between the duration given in the timeline and the duration in the Time Code indication. Also seeing two durations side by side in each timeline. How do I correct this so that there is only one (correct) duration for my clip? Thanks, marluc

Roger, thanks. I have heard similar advice from another source and am game to try it. What is the problem with audio? The sound is crucial in this piece. marluc
