I downgraded the OS (Big Sur) to Catalina and everything is fine now. I use an T-Tap from Aja, it's possible that the driver of that device wasn't compatible with Big Sur. T-tap slows down the boot of MC with 20 seconds.

I wonder why MC has such a slow start up. Sometimes it takes more than 4 minutes (AMA management is off). I don't need capture tool, plugins, AMA management, presets, audio punch in and lots of oter stuff. I just need an lean and mean off-line machine. What can I do to speed things up at start up? Recenty I had the same problem. The SearchData and/or WaveformCache was corrupt. After deleting these folders, everything was fine. Succes!

I would like to speak to the person who said that. Was he serious? I suppose Nexis has a very secret feature that any vendor of hardware would want to implement. But Avid keeps it for their own use because.... well because that feature doesn't exist. It's nonsense. Losing power is very bad for any server, including Nexis.
