I downloaded the QT of the music. The QT Inspector showed it as having a sample rate of 46,xxx hz. What is the sample rate for the original MP3's? I set a project to 48K and Imported (my preference is not to use Link for audio) the file as a multitrack (stereo) Clip. In my timeline the clip plays stereo peaking at 0db and sounds good. I cannot know a persons experience by reading their post so sorry. I opened my only MC | First MC (8.9.2)on a Mac. It displayed all the same controls for Setting Reference level. These allowed me to type in -12 as I had with the full version, however clicking OK closed the dialog box rather than showing the new setting. Opening the Audio tool again

How it is done in the full version. MC | First should be the same. Open the Audio Tool. Click on the PH button. Scroll down to Set Reference Level and select. That will open a Set Reference Level dialog box. Type in -12. See Screen shot attached.

Have you tried lengthening your timeline with an overwrite edit (all V and A tracks) using actual media? I have a favourites bin with Black video media with multiple tracks of tone that I have found useful for this issue. In the past overwrite editing a good length of this clip from where I want the timeline to end to beyond the current end and then
