You are wrong. According to the system requirements of Media Composer (e.g. here: https://www.avid.com/US/products/Media-Composer-Nitris-DX/system-requirements ) both software only and mojo/nitris versions are ok with Win7: OS: Windows 7 Professional (64-bit), Windows XP Professional SP2/SP3 (32-bit), Windows Vista Business SP2 (32-bit* and 64-bit)

For the subtitling I use the title tool as it's the fastest and the result looks good. To use the language-specific characters I always have to change the "non-unicode program support"

I found absolutely the same (just got to MC 3.5.1 after 2.8). I also use mixer gain before the audiosuite compressor because it keeps more dynamics this way, but in 3.5.1 it seems that the mixer gain is added before AND after the plugin. So the audiosuite preview is fine (it also shows the result of the mixer gain), but the rendered clip beats every

I don't know why nobody has suggested it, but I'd turn off TC in capture tool and capture the whole tape in one. But - like the dub version - he'll also loose sync with the audio that uses the same tc. superwinter: tell your cameraman to wait a few seconds next time after camera starts, before saying "action". Or use xdcam :)

Yeah, but with the foreign keyboard I loose some important functions (dot on the numeric keypad doesn't enter 00 for TC, "/" beside the right shift doesn't nudge 10 units right, "z" and "y" change place - undo and add track, almost impossible to get used to, while ctrl+alt+y insert track completely disappears, etc

A simple and cheap solution with no feedback and no separate pre-amp: hook AUX1 OUT of the mixer to the input of Avid, and use the (pre-fader) Aux1 on the channel of the mic to adjust the level (the fader sould be down). This way you use the main output for monitoring (turn down Aux1 for those channels of course), and the separate Aux output for mic
