Jerry, I would need to see what models of RAID enclosures you have before I could tell you if it should work with an ATTO R680. Each port on the R680 will support 4 drives on port multipliers. So, you can stripe 8 drives with the card, if the enclosure supports it. Your speed issue should be resolved once you get your RAID set up. I wish there was a

I'm a little confused by your hardware configuration. Your first post said you had an eSATA enclosure. Now you say you put in an ATTO H680. IINM, that card uses Mini-SAS cables and connections, and would be incompatible with an eSATA interface. That's a good call to ditch HPT and go with ATTO. I made the same mistake when i put together my first

If you read a software license, it's usually a one-sided proposition: You are rarely guaranteed a defect-free product. You can't return it if you don't like it. You have no redress if you're a dissatisfied customer. There are a few exceptions. Such as VCP Element comes with a 14-day refund policy. That's revolutionary New Thinking
Did you Expert Render first? If you don't, that adds to the export times.
No, Shane. There were no effects to render. Besides, I've worked with Avid long enough to know that exporting without rendering takes about the same time as rendering, then exporting.

Hi Guys, You can't make a QT Reference from a Sequence that contains AMA footage, so that idea is out. I tried the settings Shane suggested (as close as possible; I want AAC audio, not PCM), and I'm still seeing estimated export times in the range of hours, not minutes. A video mixdown is estimated between twenty and minutes for a five minute

Wait a second. Before you go getting all giddy about my initial experiment with MC, I found a stumbling block. Exports to H.264 (my review format) take about 100 times longer in MC than in Pr. This is unacceptable. A 48 second test clip was going to take over an hour to export (according to the thermometer / estimate after several minutes). And this

I have started a RED project in Pr CS6, and found it to be a counterproductive experience. I AMA-linked some R3D footage into MC603 and MC is much more fluid and responsive. I'd like to convert my project over. I can export EDLs from Pr, and import them into MC, and then use time-code and clip name info to rebuild, but I'm hoping there's
Did you try running MC even after the software reported it didn't install completely? I have seen it work before even when it fails. But you'd want to reboot first.
Actually, I did not. I suppose this proves I'm gullible. I believed what my software told me. I tried your suggestion, and MC launches

I was running 601 just fine. Ran the uninstaller, and it reported the uninstall failed. So, I did a manual uninstall using EasyFind, and deleted every file with Avid in the name, except for my MediaComposer folder in the User folder which holds my projects and settings. Then I ran the 603 installer. It went through the whole process and got to the end

I run 10.6.8 and I only use MC6 lightly, as a transcoder; I use another NLE for editing. But, so far, it's been solid.
