  • Re: Help with DVD and Sony deck?

I would rather use Streamclip. So I need to uninstall the Quicktime Alternative program, install Quicktime (will the latest version work with Streamclip?), buy the MPEG-2 player, then I should be okay, right? Also, how do I get to the boxes that touviere displayed? I can't seem to locate anything on Streamclip main box that will open the additional

When I select "export to Quicktime movie", there is no option in the pull-down menu for Quicktime Movie. And there is no listing under audio for "Yes". Using the Quicktime Alternative must be screwing things up? Please advise, I am detirmined to get to the bottom of this! Thanks!

I appreciate your advice but still have issues. If I uninstall Quicktime Alternative, then I am going to have problems with Streamclip, because it requires the MPEG-2 player which doen't come with Quicktime. You have to buy it from Apple, which would be okay with me, its only $20, but the reviews I read on Apple's website were not very good

Okay, I've jumped through so many hoops, my head is spinning. To summarize: I looked at Streamclip's export settings and saw the Avid DnXHD option. Then, following their instructions, I un-installed Quicktime, and installed Quicktime Alternative V1.81 (or 1.82, whatever was recommended). Then I checked the Quicktime export options, and there

Okay, I played around with some of the options in Streamclip and found the Avid export. I will experiment a little to find what works for me. This will help familiarize me with the software, so no reply needed. Thanks again for all your help!

Hopefully, this will be my last question for you. What format should I convert/export in Streamclip? There are several options, Quicktime movie, AVI, MPEG-4, etc, etc. Which will give the best quality after I import into MC? Thanks again for all your help!

It is HD, 30 fps. Actually, one of the problems is that the producer is new to all this, had volunteers to help her get it shot, and, as a result, the footage is all over the map. Some is HD, some is HDV, some is SD, some is legacy footage that currently exists only on DVD...just everything you can imagine. I am trying to pull it all together, convert

I don't understand "the property of your project in Avid..." Next point however. I will try Streamclip and see what happens. In the meantime, I used Handbrake to convert the DVD files to MP4, than imported into MC. They imported, but the image size is small. In Handbrake, the size was listed as 720X480, but display size was a bit larger

Forgot to ask, what software do you use to convert the DVD files?
