Normally Resolve MXF media goes into the Avid MediaFiles folder and a AAF is used to create bin entries. You shouldn't import or AMA link MXF media that was created using Avid round trip settings. You need to run a version of Media Composer that is qualified for OS X 1O.10.5. As of today, that would be 8.2.5 or 8.4.2. Any version available from the Download Center can run in Trial Mode. Best to uninstall before installing. You won't lose any projects or media when uninstalling Media Composer.

You can apply a Paint effect or other effect that does tracking to a layer above the clips, but the tracker is going to expect that the object follows some path from frame to frame. If that applies, you could apply a blur effect to a shape that follows the track. Or see #1 above.

If the same LUT was applied in 7.0.4.4 and you didn't get a crash, the problem may lie elsewhere. If you're game, try a recent 8.4 release and see what happens. Or if 7.0.4.4 is working, leave well enough alone for now.
