I recently encountered this issue after migrating from a perpetual licence to Ultimate on a M1 MacBook Pro. Even running uninstaller did not solve the problem, but manually uninstalling everything, then reinstalling did. This happened to us for larger feature-length sequence from older version of Avid being opened into Avid 2021. Sequence has subcaps, LUT. Could be any number of things. Crashes Avid 2021 every time, until we drag sequence to Source Monitor, create a new sequence and Insert or Overwrite all contents of problematic sequence into new sequence. Avid 2021

Hi Phil, the issue in the end for me was a conflict between Mac OS and permissions. I wasn't able to fix this without wiping the drive and reinstalling Mac OS clean, then installing Avid. This solved the problem...

Hi Kevin, Yes, it was installed (and runs) under an administrator account. The Avid projects are in Shared Projects within the Shared Users folder. My previous version of MC had none of these issues, but in updating to 2018.9, I had to reinstall the licence and wonder if something like that could contribute?

I have recently updated MC (after uninstalling everything and restarting), then installed new version and every project I open has this error message: Error Initialising bin Indexer Unable to set root path: / Is this a drive permissions issue? It doesn't affect my other computer at all (running the same version of the software). Running El Capitan
