For what it's worth... We recently upgraded our systems. On our old systems, running 8.2.5 it DIDN'T happen. I checked it when I saw the original post. After the upgrades to 8.5.2, it DOES happen. Neil.

Not sure what you mean by "timecode layer" but it sounds like you're clicking the timecode TRACK in the Timeline window, in order to play your effect. If that's the case, you need to click in the mini-timeline under the Record window. This is a timeline of just the segment that contains the effect. Certainly, if you are in Effect Edit

The facility I work at is upgrading a dozen suites. I just tested the first suite to be upgraded, particularly worried about our ability to use AvidFX 6.4 This was a clean install on a new drive. The new system is running OS 10.11.4 and Media Composer 8.4.2 and AvidFX worked fine inside Media Composer. And we use ISIS and Interplay. It was a brief test

I did a variety of tests, to try to isolate the problem. And here's a bunch of information. The files came from Nuendo. These files do not show up in the Bin after using AMA Link with the WaveAiff Plug In and the Console returns a list of the files (*see end of this post.) AMA Linking via the QuickTime Plug In gives the error from the original post

Thanks Kevin, No they're named according to their content, so they end in Narration or Dialogue or Music etc. AMA LINK navigates to a file differently from the IMPORT process and I think the issue may lie here. I think/guess that AMA LINK looks more at metadata, even for a filename, as, at times in the past, I've renamed files in the Finder

I have a repeatable issue, where, when I try to AMA link a number of WAV files, Media Composer sees two of the files as being the same, so only shows one AMA Link in the Bin. I don't have an answer for you; you have found the workaround, which is to close and re-open. (I can't remember how deep you need to go - close the Bin, Project or Application - to make it work.) But of note is that I'm on 8.2.5 and see the same issue from time to time. And I'm on an Interplay system. Neil.
