I'm in the 25 fps world and usually deliver @25 so my project is 25 and I let the motion adapters work on different frame rate material, then before export I have a play with the motion adapter parameters to check I've got the best look. I deliver 25 progressive as I don't have an interlace monitor to do any checking, and all modern screens

I usually do a string out with burnt clip name and source code, change the project size to a smaller size (720p in my case) do a mixdown and export that (same as source) usually prores for me. REMEMBER TO CHANGE THE PROJECT RESOLUTION BACK! otherwise it bites!

I found it worthwhile investing time in a macro program to trigger via key press; mute,solo adjust by 1 or 3 db Etc etc i have an xkeys input device, and now exploring touch portal on a tablet, I also use the avid control app on a tablet for mixing. the macro program is keyboard maestro (Mac) and there are other equivalents.

I tried a blank on my system on the L key and the opt-command +L still enlarged the waveform, this makes me think your problem might be at your system level- something else is getting in the way when you try the key combination.
