The bug persists in 2018.3 - the software remains almost useless for my needs - I can try multicamming with linked AVCHD, but that just doesn't go very well.

Do you have external playback hardware? Have you disconnected it if so?

Three new recordings on three separate Canon XA25 cameras yesterday. One errors out on transcode immediately, a second got through the first file in the spanned clip OK but failed while starting the second file in the clip, and the third did the same - OK through first file of the span, and errored while starting the second. This makes spanned AVCHD

Did a full uninstall-reinstall of MC 2018.2 on an iMac on OSX 10.10.5, and the issue persists. I can't seem to transcode any AVCHD, particularly longer clips that consist of spanned files, without it erroring out. My guess is it's probably hitting a snag at the beginning of some files because sometimes it errors out mid-transcode, and other

Codecs should be fine. Can't think of anything else that might have changed on the systems.

Seem to be running into errors with AVCHD more often in the last couple of versions. Currently in 2018.2, trying to transcode clips from a couple of different cameras, on different Mac systems, I keep running into: Exception: std::exception, what: AVCHD Reader: 80000ffff Source media is from a couple of different AVCHD cameras - including Canon XA25

Did you try updating your Avid version? I think they've done some tweaks to AVCHD handling in some recent updates. Otherwise, you have tools like those from HDCinematics - which now appear to be entirely free and have now added Mac versions.

Glad it worked! Sometimes I add it through Modify, but sometimes I just enable the column in the bin and type it in directly.

Calibrated{Q} has it available as a paid add-on . Either transcode to DNxHD or another format that is supported, or mixdown to something else, or buy the Calibrated{Q
