My questions regarding the new MacPro are: 1) Do you go for more cores at lower clock speed -or- fewer cores at higher clock speed for Avid MC (assuming you ignore the cost question)? Which ones will give you better day-to-day operation and more years of usefullness, vs. faster render times. (I don't mind waiting 30 seconds longer for my short videos

I think it is a bug. I have missing waveforms on mono tracks, but sometimes they come back when I change the timeline zoom level (expand it to zoom in). I'm running MC 7.0.3 on OSX 10.9.2. Eric

Hi Bill, I'm not sure if this will meet your needs or not, but I've found that if an audio interface is recognized by Mac OS, that it works as an input in the Avid MC capture tool. There are some audio interfaces which have their own hardware monitoring, which solves the latency issue for some recording situations. Perhaps you should look at

Talking about the as yet unreleased new Mac Pro, I'm curious if Media Composer 7 makes good use of the GPUs, i.e. when buying a new computer, is it generally worth it to get the higher end GPU offerings by Apple? I can sympathize. I've spent the last few days working on Chinese subtitles in Marquee. Autotitler importing unicode UTF-16 files of Chinese characters renders certain Chinese characters invisible or rendered as "0". I had to copy each line in and paste it into Marquee and then manually put the font back to Arial Unicode MS and change

There is a newer update now, but to get 6.5.2 to work, I ended up downloading it again, and that tiime the "Avid Downloader" helper (not sure what it is officially called at the moment) opened up. When I installed using this new copy, it did not cause any problems. I believe 6.5.2.1 is the current version, and it has been working pretty well
