I think the problem could be the bus is just Thunderbolt 1, AFAIK MC needs Thunderbolt 2 EDIT: What Driver version are you using? Have you tried the latest driver?

i actually rolled it back using the device manager, there is an option there to choose an old driver

i have encountered this before. I found out that if i have the latest driver installed this is happening. I manage to resolve this by installing an old driver version

Is this file by any chance an MXF with sony XDcam codec linked? If yes then i believe that this is a bug. The work around is to Consolidate the clip.

DNxIO uses blackmagic drivers, make sure you're not using 10.6.2. Recommended driver is 10.5.4

Do you have a black magic driver installed? If you do please uninstall it, i've encountered issues with black magic driver 10.6.2 with MC launching before.

on that process MC is trying to check mounted volumes can you try to remove external drives, unmount shared storage, and then just leave the local drive?

when my database files are not rebuilding, one thing that helped is by opening the media tool. For some reason, it's forcing MC to rebuild the database files.
