I just unpacked a new I mac 3.5GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz, 32GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 4X8GB, 1TB Fusion Drive, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4GB GDDR5. I down loaded Avid Media Composer 7.0.3 to run on Mavericks. Unfortunately Mavericks came out of the box as 10.9.2 which is unsupported with MC 7.0.3. 10.9.1 is listed as the last

Hi All I have not used this for a while but I remember there was a way to view your old threads. I received a great tip on deinterlacing last year and I am trying to find it again. Any advice on how to call up your old threads would be great. All the best Gary

Hi Thanks again for the great advice. Is ther by chance an edge sharpening filter that can be applied to the mix. Do you think that could work or would be counter to the process ? It overall looks great it is just as epected looses some quality on the edges of objects. Thanks Gary

Oh yes sorry one more small thing. Is H.264 a good output codec for this Vimeo prefers it and it is where it will end up among other places on the web. Once again great advice thank you . Gary

Hi I am changing my website from flash to HTML 5 and have t reencode all my video I am trying to get some old SD footage to look good as progressive. It was initially input primarily from mini dv and DV Cam a few years back. I have been outputing the footage as same as source or as an H264 and have been using a variety of apps ie mpeg streamclip, JES

Hi thanks for responding. How do you do that and what is the benefit ? I imported the HD footage in its own HD project then opened the bin in the SD project through file-open bin and I think it still looks inferior in the SD project but nice in the HD project. Will this method give me better lookig HD footage on an SD timeline ? Thanks Gary

Hi All I am trying to get a 1080 29.97 pro res quicktime into an old DV 30ii porject and time line. I would like to cut some of the HD footage into SD timeline (composed of old SD footage). My efforts to import the HD file into the SD project using the typical import settings are not as good as I would like. Any suggestions on the best way to do this

Hi Anyone know how to export a locator list with thumbnails, timecode and text as a pdf or other non avid document. I want to avoid printing it and would like to be able to email it. I am cutting this projecyt on both MC 6.0 and Xpress pro 5.8.1. Thanks Gary
