What i mean is - so if i edit an audio track then select the whole clip, do i still have the ability to up or down

Hi all, I have been importing all my files off the Sony camera's i use into AVID & the AVCHD files import like a rocket, however the mp4 files dont ! A simple 1 min mp4 file off a gopro takes 24min to import into avid ! I am looking for a video coverter that will convert GOPRO mp4 files into AVCD M2TS files. I have already converted to AVCHD

Thanks for all the replies all. I will have a detailed look through this process as soon as i can scratch myself. The reason why i want to shorten the clips before loading into avid is so i don't waste space on my avid harddrives. If i do the shortening with avid then delete the full length clip obviously my shorter clip will be offline correct
