Media drive has 757GB Free space of a 1.36 GB total. Using AVCHD media. Not installed windows updates but updated MC to 8, the 8.2 which is when all the problems began. Also updated NVIDIA Quadro 3800 and no success. Went back to MC 6.5.4.5 and problems exist there now also. Dropping frames now too. Not created a new user account... do you suggest that

Desperate for help on why media files will not play smoothly. I have resorted to going back to MC 6.5.4.5 to get caught up on work.........now files will not play smoothly is this version either. PC is dropping frames which was never an issue before upgrading to MC 8.2. I have been in contact with AVID but was not successful. Final suggestion from AVID

I have recently upgraded to Media Composer 8. 1. Originally video and audio files would play smoothly. Now after a couple of weeks, the files will play but they start, then play a few seconds and stop... over and over again. When a sequence is exported, it exports correctly. Fairly new to MC. Are there tutorials anywhere on how to import word documents while maintaing sharpness? Should the word document be saved as a different format, THEN imported? After importing, I plan on using the Pan and Zoom tool.

Importing AVCHD file. Import will begin and almost finish then freezes. Is there a 2 GB size limit on file size to import? If so, is there a work around this?
