Thanks, that seems to confirm what I was told.. Don't really know the difference between PAL and NTSC. NTSC is 30 fps, not 25, so upping the frame rate seems logical. But isn't it lower res too? Something to do with the number of scan lines...? J

This is tangentially Avid-related, but please humour me.. Someone's just asked for a job shot in NTSC. We're in London and all our stuff is PAL. A colleague suggests it's as simple as switching the camera's internal menu from 50i to 60i - does this sound plausible? Thanks J

Thanks for that link - lots to take in. Have not tried it, but does anyone know how fast you can activate/deactivate a system? Sounds nightmarish if, for instance, you have to rush out with the laptop. Also, if activating online 'kills' the dongle, do you have to insert it for it to get 'zapped'? If not I still don't see why it would

Can I invite some reflections upon the following? I run MC on two platforms - a desktop, and a laptop for location edits. This involves lots of dongle-swapping. I'd love to liberate the laptop from dongle use. But clearly the raison d'etre of a dongle is to prevent multiple SIMULTANEOUS use of the same software. I recently invested in MC v.4

Hi Bought the v.4 upgrade the other day, through a licensed reseller, and installed it over v.3. Was asked how to validate, and went for the dongle option. Then got the following message: 'Your system is not licensed to run this version of the software. Please contact an Avid representative for more assistance'. The software's real, as is

Hi I found and downloaded the Sentinel System Driver Installer 7.5.1 exe It asks if I want to overwrite the old driver.. can I just check if this is wise? Am running 3.0. would hate to install a too-new driver and mess up the system...
