Getting a weird message ProTools won't open projects

So i'm trying to open ProTools and I get a box that opens and says

"could not create a new document because Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/223115/ProTools/DFW/Views/UMenu.MacOS.mm lne 1813.

I have no clue what this is. Can anyone advise?

Hi,

I had completely forgotten that a dedicated forum had been setup for the Boston Avid Users Group until I got a notification of your message.

As for your issue, I'm afraid I'm not much help. I primarily work with Media Composer and have no experience with Pro Tools. But, I didn't want your message to twist into the void.

Spitballing here, but what are your system specs? Computer, OS, etc and which version of ProTools? There could be an imcompatibility somewhere.
