You can capture the ProRes 4:4:4:4 QT's in DS, I think your trouble will be getting the EDL to come over and look to the QT's. Yes! It does make sense. You need the project archives, no way around it, BUT, you don't have to restore them. In the project archive, there is an "archive.log" file.
