"Too few samples in destination buffer"

This is driving me nuts!!! I want the volume of the song to drop in a certain point, i put an Add Edit, turning the volume down using the Audio Mixer, and adding a fade so the transition between the different volumes will go smoothly. but i noticed that while it's fading the sound gets distorted..so i export that specific segmant to see if you can hear it as well (export to QT..with video), it didn't even export...after the progress bar it gives me this error "Too few samples in destination buffer". trying to figure out what's wrong, i removed the fade...and the the export worked!! I thought maybe something with the mp3 file is wrong..i converted it to WAV, downloaded it from another site..nothing, same error. and after removing the fade effect the export works. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???
