Hello everybody,
I work with MC 3.1.1 and imported Raw DV-Files from a CF Card out of a Sony HVR Z7. All the clips start with TC at 1:00:00:00. Is there a way to keep TC synced with the TC on Tape? I have read about this issue in other posts, but there were no answers. Anybody out there smarter than the rest? :-)
Greetings
Stefan
Easy simple answer. DV does not record timecode on the card (certainly not that avid recognises)
Set your record to be hdv onto the card, that will import with timecode no probs.
I use the Z7 with CF card all the time this way.
My only concern (which is a separate topic on its own) is that I get probably 1 shot every 7 or 8 tapes that will not import. Nothing wrong the the m2t file, it plays fine, but I have to re-encode the file to be a qt or mxf to get it to import into avid.
m2t (HDV) files straight from the Z7 flash to MC 4.0.5 retain their original timecode.
Now to be honest I don't remember what it was like at 3.1.3.13.

Well thanks a lot. Too bad though. What's the point in hybrid recording when I have no TC sync? This project is in SD so it makes no sense recording in HDV. Thanks again and greetings.
