Hello,
guys i have some problem, i edit the project in DV 25 420 MXF ( 25p PAL ) format. I captured and imported video and it works fine on the display screen. But when i try to export it, no matter in what file, i have strokes on the video, some one called it "scan line banding effect". I know that something doesn't match. but I'm not used working in Avid MC so i don't know how to solve it, i just hope that i won't begin all the project from the start. Please, can you suggest me what to do and how to solve it.

Thanks Larry, i added what you asked))
AquaPix: What are your export settings?
I tried every one of export options, - send to QT Movie, QuickTime Reference, Sorenson Squeeze etc....
it's a standart options, sample rate 48 khz, 16 bit...audio wave. color level 601\709.
now in EXPORT SETTINGS : Export as : AAF Method : Link to ( don't export) media ...it's first time i see it, it can cause the problem????
i also have :
checkbox off at: Render video effects and transcode to DV 25P 420
do you think Link to ( don't export) media is the problem. i'll try to check it now....
waiting for you help, thanks)
Fimon:On the export window in the "options" tab, if you choose quicktime movie from "export as", you will see a button named "custom". Click that button and you will get access to many additional parameters that allow you to custom tailor a profile to your exact needs and save it, rather than using one of the export preset profiles. Keep in mind that after custom creating a profile, you click on "save as" give it a name, hit OK, and THEN CLICK "SAVE" to permanently add it to the profile list.

Either your field order is incorrect, or Avid is resizing the video which it does a horrible job of. Export everything "same as source" and do any resizing in Sorenson.

Fimon,
this isn't banding, it looks like you have a reversed field order.
If it is not showing in the Avid, do a mixdown of your entire timeline, place it in the top layer of your timeline and then export it as a QT.ref.

I guess that you have captured interlaced Pal media and are editing on a progressive sequense, just change your settings to 25i

What cam are your media shot with and are you using the same cam for digitizing media into MC.
DV in NTSC has 6 lines less than a regular NTSC setup (480 instead of 486). In the General setting, your project "Effect aperture" should have been in DV. I think the case is similar in PAL but I don't have the numbers in my memory.
From there, you must maintain the same ratio.
If your DV goes to another Avid, and the effect aperture is set to regular PAL, you may experience a resizing and these resizings are causing the banding.
Sorry I am so late to help...
Montevideo is correct. Squeeze does a nice job of fixing this if you turn on the Auto-Cropping filter.
