Hey there, I'm in terrible need of some assistance. I am receiving the following errors: "an unexpected error occurred while importing Quicktime Audio Tracks. The imported audio file may not be usable." I get this error while trying to import audio from the desktop level AND "Mac error -37 (there may be no bad names in the final system)" I get this error when i try to do ANYTHING on the system IE digitize, save a title, render I have three G-Tech drives configured to the system they are: (2) G-Tech 1TB G-RAID3 Quad interface (dual drive RAID) (1) G-Tech 500 GB G-DRIVE Q Quad interface Hard Drive (THEY ARE CHAINED VIA FW800) I receive the error codes ONLY when trying to utilize s specific drive, the 500 gig. I've taken the other drives out all together and tried using only the 500 gig drive but still no go. I am able to write to either of the two 1TB drives no problem, even while chained. I would appreciate ANY help whatsoever I'm going totally mental! thank you so much for your time
Spacefish:...I receive the error codes ONLY when trying to utilize s specific drive, the 500 gig.
Since this seems to be the source of your problem, have you removed it (or dismounted it using File>unmount) to see if the problem persists?

thank you so much for the response.
i've tried booting with only the 500 gig drive in the chain and still no go. the craziest thing is i can write to the drive (copying files to and from the drive) no problem but while using the avid software nothing! the avid software recognizes the drive as a media disk so i don't think it's having difficulty reading it more so writing to it.
i feel there is something incredibly simple and incredibly dumb on my part that i'm either overlooking or haven't done.
thanks again for your time!
assuming you have already trashed the media databases inside the OMFI media files folder, try Xing out the existing OMFI media files folder on your 500gb drive. Launch Avid and open your project. Media will be offline for now. From the tools pulldown menu select the audio tool and write tone media to your 500gb drive. The purpose behind this is to force the creation of a brand new OMFI media files folder. Once created start in small batches to dump the contents of the X'd out folder into the new OMFI folder, The goal here is to locate and isolate possible corruption. To move the old files simplyhide Avid in the background and move the files at the desktop level.. Activating Avid will refresh to Media Databases

What is the name of the offending drive when it appears in the Finder?
Must think of something clever to go here...
it's labeled music/render. could that be part of the problem?
thanks for your time
Yes that's the problem. While the Mac is fine with "/", PCs and Avids don't like anything other than alphanumeric characters in the file name or path. Remove the "/" and the problem should go away.
renamed the drive and BAM all good, THANK YOU!!!
thanks so much for taking the time to post
