Hi all,
A filmscribe question - I was doing a change list between two sequences using FilmScribe v23.8.3 and got an interesting error. It dumped me to the "Serious Program Error" and then said, "Error: Old and New sections should be of equal length, but are not:...this could be the result of incorrect KN values in one of the clips" I went ahead and isolated the shots in question in the 2 sequences. Firstly, it is the same shot, except 26 frames shorter in one of the sequences. Secondly, there are no KN values for either shot (the show is not film, but, HD tape native). And finally, the two shots were hand synced by me using 48fps material that I sped up and then synced with a .wav file from set.
Any thoughts?
Did you ever figure out what caused this error? I'm now having the same issue using v25.04.4. Same issue as you... it's getting stuck on the same clip that's shorter in the new sequence. I'm in a film project but this is actually a VFX proxy that we created (exported Same as source with VFX burn-ins and then re-imported).
Any thoughts or ideas are welcome. thanks, DYLAN
We're having this exact problem as well with VFX imports. If a sequence contains any clips without KN values, this error occurs. This never used to be an issue, so something has changed in the way FilmScribe is making change lists.
I've sent this though to Avid along with an example bin for them to test. Fingers crossed a fix will come soon, like you guys, this is a big problem for us.
We also tested on the very latest FilmScribe v26.0.3 which comes with MC 4.0.3 and the same problem happens there too.
Still the same issue with the latest FilmScribe v26.0.4.
Please can we have a fix for this, its all but killed our ability to acuratly tell the sound department what's changed.
A fix is in the works.

Thanks Glenn.
