I'm a casual user of MC. After updating to the latest version, 2022.10, via Link, I've experienced loading failures. The first comes with a long pause at "Reloading Plugin: AMADevicesMonitor.avx". After about 4 min it progresses, then stalls at "Initializing Avid Media Access Volume Manager", and never completes the process. I use Task Manager to close out.

Tried unistall/reinstall of 2022.10. Same outcome. Tried unistall/reinstall with 2021.12, same outcome. Tried update back to 2022.10 via Link. Same outcome.

I saw an older thread related to AMADevicesMonitor.avx that mentioned using an older version of Win 10. I didn't exerience this issue until recently, and windows has certainly gone through a number of routine updates.

Any ideas or suggestions?

As an update, if I let the computer sit for about 1 hour, MC eventually gets past the second stop point and very slowly loads. The projects menu comes up and when i select a recent project, it very slowly loads (20 min?). Once loaded I can scroll through the timeline and play it. I've not tried to edit.

I have no idea what is going on.

Contacted avid support and heard back within a couple hours. My Boris Continuum was suspected. So I uninstalled it. MC ran great. Reinstalled BCC and MC continues to run great. Problem fixed.

But the really interesting thing is, this also fixed a similar issue I was having with Resolve. Even though Boris provides a different version of BCC for use with Resolve, that I didn't touch.

It gets stranger. I had been experiencing really slow booting into Windows 10. That is corrected as well. I have no idea what caused all of this weirdness. Some corrupted file I suppose, but fixing Windows 10 boot time? Strange, but all is good now.

First time I've ever used Avid support. The online form is a little weird to fill out. I didn't see the helpful guide in the licensing section of the forum until my issue was resolved.
