Hello All,
I am new to avid, though not to film editing. I have worked for years on FCPX & Premier for broadcast & coporate jobs.
I am trying to set uyp an avid system in our studio. We ran a test last year and that all seemed to work fine, but I have not been able to get back to this for nearly 18 months.
I have set up a new project. We have rushes stored on an extrenal drive (it's an old Thunderbolt 2 drive we use a clip archiive). I have another SSD project drive connected via USBCto my Mac Studio. I have linked some clips from the archive & I was planning to consolidate them to the SSD drive. All fien so far.
However when I try to open a clipt to select some edito points I am getting an error message:Assertion failed: ((int32)(sampData->bufferDetails.absStartOfReadIntoBuffer...etc. See screen grabs.
This looks to me as though AVID is not liking the buffer speed of the external drives. Would this be right? But given that the consoliidated files are running off a USBC drive this should be fast enough?
I this the issue or is there another probelm....at the momentm, this is a no starter - but we did not have the issue when we tried all this last year.
The Rushes are all MXF fils from the Sony FS9. Our selected codec in DNX
Thanks for any help.
Andrew
what version of the OS are you running on the Mac Studio, and what is the version of Avid Media Composer?
