In and Out Points not auto-clearing

    Hi,

I've been working on an edit recently and noticed that my in and out points don't auto-clear in the timeline after making an edit. In the past I would expect to mark an in and out on the timeline and then make my edit, say an insert edit, and then the in and outs would auto-clear and I could move onto my next edit in the timeline. However, my in and outs are not clearing after making an edit and I have to then manually clear them using the G button, which is driving me nuts. I spoke to a colleague to make sure I wasn't going mad and he told me his Avid auto clears ins and outs after making an edit. I've looked in timeline settings to find a way to change the setting but haven't found anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks.

What version of Media Composer are you running? If you create a new user, does the same problem happen?

Media Composer 2022.12.2 w/Symphony/SS/PF options, HP Z-Book G6 17", i7-9850H 2.60GHz, 32gb RAM, NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000, Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini... [view my complete system specs]

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. It's version 2020.12.3

When I get some time in the edit I'll try creating a new user, as you say and see if that makes any difference.

    Many thanks!

    Pete
