I'm a sound design student at university and I'm trying to do some projects on my home PC so I installed Pro Tools and it worked fine. Then suddenly the video engine stopped working so I tried everything I could find and I couldn't fix it so I've reinstalled Pro Tools multiple times and each time, the video engine doesn't get installed. I have no idea how to get the video engine now as you can't download it by itself and it doesn't show up anywhere on my system when I install pro tools. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.
These are the forums for Avid Media Composer. The Pro Tools forums are located at duc.avid.com.

I'm sure the Protools forums are the best place to get answers but being on a PC you could use a system restore point to roll back to a time when it did work.
The video engine is part of the software so you can't install it separately and the installer will be installing it. It's not missing its just not working. This is often a display driver issue.
Something on your OS changed. Possibly a Windows update or an additional piece of software being installed.
