Hi all, hoping someone can help me out here, or at least to flag a backwards-compatibility issue for anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation.

I am working on a project where we are using two iMac 2015 5K Retinas running macOS Monterey and MC 2018.12.15 (I know, they're old). Over the weekend, I needed to check a few things in our master timeline, so I had to use my 2020 MacBook Pro, running Catalina, where I have MC 2022.7. 

To avoid compatibility issues, I created a new project, and copied the sequence's bin into that project; I wasn't ingesting anything, so I figured AMA/UME mixups wouldn't be any trouble. Was able to open that copy up, no problem.

However, I just opened up the original bin on one of the 2018.12.15 stations and several clips are now labeled "Unsupported (HD1080p)". The affected clips were brought in in 2018.12.15, fast-imported ProRes 4444, some with and some without Alpha. I didn't do anything to affect these clips, so I guess something had to have happened to them just by opening a bin containing their related master clips in MC 2022? The bin and project I used were new, but they did refer to the same Avid MediaFiles folder.

Trashing/rebuilding databases hasn't worked, nor replacing with old copies of the MXFs. I can batch re-import, but since the other editor and I aren't working off a shared server, I'd like to avoid recreating a bunch of media and then syncing up their station. Is there a way to get MC2018 to see that these MXFs are the same ProRes files they always were? Any insights would be much appreciated. 

Hi, The UME media engine is relativley new to media composer. Could it be that Media composer 2022.7 is reading the linked media fine, but 2018 can't understand the UME masterclips and is throwing that error?
