Unlink only certain track from masterclip?

I can unlink an entire masterclip (Cmd+Shift+Rightclick > Unlink).  But can I unlink only a particular track in the master clip?  Say, unlink the video track but keep the audio tracks linked?

The only way I know currently would be to press the Del key on the masterclip and choose to delete the "Associated Media", chosing only the video media there.  But maybe I don't want to delete; just unlink!

    Hi,

Out of interest, why would you want to unlink just the video and not the audio?

You could cut it into a timeline and mixdown what you would like to keep

Unlink, then relink with "Video" unselected. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Brute force: remove video files from your MXF folder.

As an example: receiving sync'd dailies from the lab with incorrect burn-ins that need to be resupplied.  Typically the lab just sends us corrected video MXFs to relink to the existing masterclips.  In a "real-world" scenario, it's wise to move the bad MXFs out of the MXF folder rather than immediately delete them through Avid's "Delete Associated Media."  Doing that takes the video offline but the masterclip holds on to the old MOB ID and doesn't link to the new video MXF until you first Unlink the masterclip.

95% of the time this is no problem, but I've had a few cases where unlinking the entire masterclip then relinking again leaves a few audio tracks offline for whatever reason until I track down their MXF folders and force a rescan.  I know that's another issue to be looking into, but when I'm in a rush to get dailies done, one thing that would help is if I could just unlink the video by itself.  Perhaps it's not possible, but I was just wondering.
