    Airspeed 5500 win7 to win10 upgrade

    Hi All,

Just a 'warning'. When updating an Airspeed 5500 (gen2 model) from windows 7 to windows 10, make sure you use the USB sticks included with the upgrade. They are labelled 'gen2 airspeed win10 rcvry drive'.

Using an Airspeed 5500 win 10 USB stick from a the new gen3 (10Gb nic) model will result in errors in the framework regarding motherboard and processor.

While the windows 10 operating system is 99% identical, the image includes system identification information that will identify the hardware to the framework.

Because the USB stick model is identical, except for the stickers, it is easy to mix them up and during and after completing the re-imaging process you see no errors or have any problems. Only after also installing the airspeed software do you become aware of the mistake made when opening the framework health monitor. And that means that the whole re-image process has to be done from the start.

    Another 4 hours wasted.

Most of the MC/NC, Interplay, Nexis, ISIS, Unity stuff. [view my complete system specs]
